Go Back To The Basics with Maya! Our 3D character animation course will help fill in the gaps when you’re switching from 2D to 3D animation. Revisit the principles of animation and we’ll take it step by step as you figure out how animated objects work differently in a 3D space.

Brief history of animation, types of animation & introduction to 3D animation

Week 2 - Motion in 3D animation :

Types of motion, timing/spacing in 3D Animation & 3D production pipeline

Week 3 - Principles of Animation :

Introduction & applications of the 12 principles of animation & different types of 3D animation

Week 4 - Setting up Camera & Basic Rig :

Scenes/shots, basics of camera angles & creating animatable controls

Week 5 - Understanding the Concept of Rigging :

Types of constrains, joints/bind skin, attribute editor & setting the driven key

Week 6 - Animation Tools :

Using graph editor, types of tangents & using cycle with dope sheet

Week 7 - Camera Animation in 3D Space :

Camera settings, camera angles, camera sequencer & types of shots

Week 8 - Digital Character Posing :

Controlling character rig & creating strong poses

Week 9 - Human Walk Animation :

Basic walk poses & creating a simple walk cycle

Week 10 - Different Types of Walk Animation :

Straight walk vs walk cycle & adding personality to your character

Week 11 - Fine Tuning Walk Animation & Quadruped Walk Animation :

Creating a stylized & refined progressive walk animation

Week 12 - Quadruped Animation :

Understanding anatomy/physiology of your characters & switching from C spine to U spine
